FID RULES/CONSTRAINTS:

EWSD (Release 9.0 and Prior)
When the Message Waiting Indication (MWI) FID appears, the Message Service System (MSS) FID must appear on the same logical line.
DMS-100
Message Waiting Indication option on an Electronic Business Set (EBS) is assigned to a non-Directory Number (DN) key.
DMS-100
Message Waiting Query option on an EBS is assigned to a non-DN key.
DMS-100
Message Waiting Indication on an EBS must be assigned to a key before Message Waiting Query may be assigned.
DMS-100, CS2000
The Call Send (CAR) and Call Request Exempt Indicator (CRX) FIDs are required on the same logical line.
DMS-100 ISDN
If both Stutter Tone and Lamp are required, then the B code set should be used following the MWI FID when the Originating Equipment (OE) assignment is done by the Telcordia SWITCH system. The SOAC site tuneable tables also need to be enhanced when the B code set is used, so that in the SOAC process the correct translations information of L for Stutter Tone with lamp is sent to the MARCH system and other downstream systems. The current code set of L for Stutter Tone with Lamp should continue to be used by companies that have other OE provisioning systems.

When the FID MWI appears, the Scan Point (SP) FID must appear on the same logical line.
TL1
For secondary DNs, the MWI keyword is valid only when SAMEMBX=N (SMTL FID) on the primary DN.
GTD-5 EAX
Applicable to non-BBG lines only.

SERVICE ORDER ACTIVITY NOTES:

EWSD (APS 10.0)
When the MWI FID is used with the element 1 TL1 values and entered through a TL1 MARCH interface into the EWSD switch, the EWSD will map MWI with the element 1 data to their classmark MSGSERV. The MSS FID is not requried.

S, L, and M are the only valid code sets for TL1, GTD-5 EAX and SanteraOne and represent domain/parameter values of SO, BOTH, and LO respectively.

DMS-100 ISDN

B code set represents the value of both Stutter Tone and Message Waiting Lamp. Code sets S and I are also valid code sets for ISDN on the DMS-100 switch.

DMS-100

G code set is used when additional voltage needed to light the lamp is provided by the LEC. A special line card is required for these sets. The G code set supports a special case of existing customers that have been grandfathered.

CS 2000 (SN07)

C and S are the only valid codes sets.
