The type of line card to be used to verify that the Network Termination (NT1) being provided by the subscriber, matches the actual office equipment assignment of the subscriber.

SERVICE ORDER ACTIVITY NOTES:
  1. Actual assignment of the correct line card type by SWITCH/OS is based upon assignable line USOC and not upon NT1 FID value.  Thus, use of the NT1 FID is not required for line card assignment purposes.

    If the NT1 FID is used, its purpose is to explicitly populate the NT1 field on view 23.2.  When explicitly populating this NT1 field, an error is produced if it does not match the actual value of the line card type as specified in view 22.7.  If the NT1 FID is not used, the NT1 field on view 23.2 defaults to the office-wide NT1 value specified in view 8.1 and apparently no error is produced when/if there is a mismatch between NT1 values on views 22.7 and 23.2.

    As explicit use of the NT1 FID raises difficult provisioning issues (i.e., how does the service representative know the correct value of NT1 to be assigned, increased likelihood of error rejections, etc.), caution is recommended in the use of this FID.
