FID RULES/CONSTRAINTS:

1. Section:  ASGM,     Position:  FL
   This FID is entered in the Miscellaneous Subset, Central Office Facilities Subset and Outside Plant Facilities Subset.
2. Section:  S&E,      Position:  LH
   For Access Service application C and T action codes cannot be used to change TN data when TN is the primary line identifier.
3. T, F, and X order types prohibited for Access Service application.
4. X action code prohibited on Access Service orders.
5. SERIES AND RANGE ENTRIES - PROCESSING
   Service Order Analysis and Control System (SOAC) should process series and range data entries using the DISTRIBUTE algorithm.
6. Section:  IDENT,   Position:  LH
   The absence of an action code infers the presence of an "I" (IN) action code. The I action code is optional on the service order.

SERVICE ORDER ACTIVITY NOTES:

1. If new account numbers are not assigned by the originating work group, the TN field is left blank to be filled in at a later step prior to completion.
2. Section:  IDENT     Position:  LH
   The FID TN and its data follow the O (Out) action code. This FID is entered only when the main account number is being changed.  When the customer code is changing also, the FID CUS is floated immediately after the FID TN.
3. Section:  LIST      Position:  FL
   Most directory white page production systems will not process a floating TN on an X (cutover) order nor a floating TN following a left-hand LN (Listed Name).
4. Section:  S&E       Position:  FL
   TN and its data may be entered floating after each USOC for items of service and equipment associated with a line.  If the FID TER (Terminal Number) is entered with a USOC requiring a telephone number, line equipment, and outside plant facility assignment, the requirement that a telephone number be entered as the line identifier is overridden by the FID TER.  
   
   TN entries in a range and/or series are ordered according to the sequence of TER entries specified, (i.e., the first TN is associated with the first TER, the second TN is associated with the second TER, etc.).
   
   A TN or LD number is required for the first line of an ESS or DMS-100 circuit switched multiline hunt group.  In addition, a TN or LD number is required for each line of an ESS multiline non-hunt group (ESS 1 only).
   
   TN is prohibited for all but the first line of a DMS-100 multiline hunt group.
5. When the telephone number for a line is changed, the line USOC and each additional USOC referencing that line are shown changed (C&T or C&X) with TN and the old telephone number floating on the change from (C) entries and TN and the new telephone number floating on the change to (T or X) entries.  If a telephone number is being added to an existing line identified by a TER entry, the line USOC requiring telephone number, line equipment, and outside plant assignments is entered with TER and the terminal number and the change from (C) action code.  A change to (T or X) entry follows immediately, showing TN and the telephone number floating along with TER and the terminal number.
