TRANSMISSION EQUIPMENT

INDICATES:

Transmission equipment assigned to a subscriber's service to provide gain, reduce noise, or extend ringing range on an individual line basis. Also used to model Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer (DSLAM) ports for support of voice and data services on Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL).

FID RULES/CONSTRAINTS:
  1. This FID is entered in the Central Office Facilities Subset and/or the Outside Plant Facilities Subset.
  2. T, F, and X order types prohibited for Access Service application.
  3. X action code prohibited on Access Service orders.
  4. The TRE FID, followed by the descriptive reference code and apparatus identification, will be entered on the central office segment of the service order when the equipment assigned is located in the central office.
  5. If the equipment is located outside of the central office, the TRE FID followed by the proper identifying elements will be entered in the outside plant segment of the order.
  6. The CLEI codes are required for transmission equipment which has circuit features and reference codes.  (These are equipments which have level or response options.  When the options have been determined by the outside plant engineer, they are encoded into the CLEI for the equipment.)  For transmission equipment not having these data, shortened codes are recommended.
