1. For the primary subscriber to an internet access service, the user identifier is the acronym, chosen by the subscriber, by which the subscriber will be known to the internet access service provider. For a primary subscriber, the user identifier is often the same as the initial portion of their e-mail address (i.e., the portion preceding the "@" sign in the e-mail address).
